Douglas Fairley
After qualifying as a solicitor in 1992, Douglas worked for six years with a large commercial firm in Glasgow and Edinburgh and, during 1997 and 1998 was involved in running that firm's Employment Law Unit.
Since calling in 1999 he has specialised in employment and commercial work. He has appeared regularly before Employment Tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal as well as the Outer and Inner Houses of the Court of Session. He has also appeared in the House of Lords.

He has sat as an Employment Judge in both Scotland and England and between March 2010 and May 2011 was a full-time Employment Judge in the Edinburgh Office of the Employment Tribunals.
Since returning to practice on 30 May 2011 he has been a full-time Advocate Depute.
He is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association, a contributor to Court of Session Practice (Tottel), and co-author of Contempt of Court in Scotland (CLT).
