Ruth M Innes
Ruth specialises in family and child law. She is instructed in cases both in the Court of Session and in the Sheriff Court involving all aspects of financial provision on divorce, financial claims on breakdown of cohabitation or on the death of a cohabitant, pre-nuptial agreements, child abduction, relocation of children, jurisdiction in cross-border proceedings, adoption and permanence orders. Ruth has delivered seminars on a number of topics in the field of family law. She is a Reporter for Session Cases and edits the chapters on Cohabitation and International Aspects of the Law relating to Parental Rights and Responsibilities in Butterworths Family Law Service.
In 2011, Ruth was appointed an ad hoc Advocate Depute, prosecuting crime in the High Court on behalf of the Lord Advocate.
